1. Who Can Use Hangoutio

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Hangoutio, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are legally allowed to enter into these Terms.

2. Types of Users

• Guest Users can create temporary accounts with limited access. Guest users may still view and contribute to hangouts but will not have access to all features available to registered users.
• Registered Users have full access to the platform's features once they complete the registration and email verification process.

3. A Passion Project

Hangoutio is a personal, non-commercial project built out of interest and enthusiasm for collaborative tools. It is provided free of charge, with no monetization, sponsorship, or advertising.

4. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Please choose a strong password and if you intend on storing it, do it securely. We are not responsible for any unauthorized access to your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this app reasonably, for its intended purpose, and not:

• Use the Service in any way that violates laws or regulations.
• Harass, harm, or impersonate others.
• Distribute spam, malware, or any malicious code.
• Attempt to disrupt or degrade the performance, stability, or rendering of the app, including attempts to overload or misuse system resources, APIs, or database operations.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the underlying software or systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove access to the Service for violations of this policy.

6. Privacy and Data

We collect only the minimum data required to provide our Service: display name, username, email (for registered users), and a password, which is securely hashed. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Data is stored securely and handled with care.

While we take security seriously and aim to protect your data using industry best practices, no system is entirely immune to unforeseen issues. We are not liable for data loss, breaches, or exposure arising from events beyond our reasonable control or foresight.

The software powering Hangoutio is open source and made available under the GNU General Public License v3.0. You are free to view, use, and modify the code under the Terms of that license. However, the Hangoutio name, design, and branding may not be used without permission.

9. Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. By using Hangoutio, you agree that any legal matters arising from these Terms will fall under Serbian jurisdiction.

10. Support and Contact

Hangoutio does not offer any active customer support. It is provided as-is, with no guarantee of assistance or issue resolution.

Any emails you may receive from us through no-reply@hangoutio.com are automated, and you're treated as having read them.

You're responsible for providing a valid email address if and when you choose to register an account. We're not liable for any communication, automated or otherwise, you may miss due to any issues with your email service provider.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, and reserve the right to do so. If significant changes are made, we'll post a notice on the site or send you an email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
